9-11. Never Forget. Never Forfeit Freedom

Its hard to believe it's been 10 years. I look around this mighty nation--my nation--and I am filled with a sense of pride. I don't know about you, but when a hush settles over the crowd and a single clear voice rings out with the Star Spangled Banner, I get choked up.

I'm so very proud to be an American. So in remembrance of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, let us unite as Americans. For just one hour. Let us abandon our political affiliations, our biases, our prejudices and remember not just those who lost their lives to terror, but those who have survived, those who tried to rescue the fallen and trapped, those who defend us here and overseas and those who have yet to be born into a country of liberty. For just one hour, let's unite and remember what freedom is.

Remember this. Tyranny begins the moment one feels their rights supersede anothers. It begins when you hate someone for being or believing differently than you. The Constitution of the United States of America was founded on many principles but at its core, at its root, it is a very simple and powerful philosophy. Freedom is the right to do anything you want, so long as it does not transgress upon the freedom of someone else.
